We are Robert and Maxine. We have lived in Grand Junction, Colorado since September 2022. Besides Logan, we have 3 dogs. Dakota the 12 year old Labrador, Nyx the 3 year old Labrador mix, and Peanut the 2 year old chihuahua mix.
Maxine : Is a retired/disabled veteran who served in the Air Force for 9 years. She enjoys playing in the dirt, learning Greek as well as a multitude of other languages, our horses and dogs. She is currently enrolled to become an apprentice beekeeper. In her spare time, she volunteers with Harmony Acres Equestrian Center.
Robert : Is a former computer engineer who serves as Maxine’s VA caregiver. He is 2 classes shy of finishing his Equine Science degree as of 2023. He plays the bass guitar, is also learning Greek, enjoys playing video games, and is obsessed with cars that have hood scoops. He also volunteers with Harmony Acres Equestrian Center.
Logan : Is a 25 year old Tennessee Walking Horse who have been owned and cared for by us for 15 years. He has had many jobs over the years and has been medically retired to a peaceful life teaching young horses to be good members of horse society at our small ranch in Grand Junction. He enjoys standing out in the rain, rolling in the dirt, pets on the neck, and anything involving snacks!
Trooper : Is a 5 year old Quarter Horse fostered by us starting in 2023 for Harmony Acres Equestrian Center. He’s currently learning from Logan how to be a great therapy horse when he grows up. Like his conspecific friend, he also enjoys standing in the rain, rolling in the dirt, helping muck, and snacks! He’s a goofball who brightens everyday with his personality.
